Oh how I love … NaNoWriMo

    Category: My Life

Wow … So I figured, it’s the weekend I should write sometime today, as I’m several days behind on writing for NaNoWriMo. (The first two days I wrote up into day 5 worth of material and then I didn’t write till today), so I thought, I’m home from work, only have like an hour till I have to leave and meet with my Pastor, what to do…

So I get a tweet (from Twitter) that we’re having a Word War for NaNoWriMo in 5 minutes, and it’s a 15 minute word war. So I figure, 15 minutes, I can do that. So I did it. 604 words.

And then another tweet “Word War #2 in 5 minutes. Duration: 15 minutes.” I glanced at the clock. “yeah” I figure, I can do another 15 minute word war. 638 word count.

So here, I am about to leave meet with Pastor Ralph, and I wrote 12,42 words today ….. in 30 minutes. So I’m 4xx away from my daily goal. Not back for not writing since … I think Monday night.

I am BACK on track… now If I can only do like 5 times that tomorow, I’ll be rolling….

    Gotta LOVE NaNoWriMo.

A checkbox can change a nation

    Category: My Life, Thoughts

Welcome to November 5th, 2008. The first year an african-american has ever become a president elect.

    Welcome to the new America.

What does this mean for our world, and what does this mean for us? (This has NOTHING to do with him being African-American, as my roommate is African-American and has everything to do with the man that he IS) It means it’s time for judgment. All throughout the Old Testament we find the nation of Israel fall away from God, and he always responds by bringing judgment down upon them.

But that sounds like a mean God, some say.

But I say it sounds like a merciful loving God. You see, the judgement is not made for judging sake. It is not done to put them down or make them feel bad. The judgement is done, so that in the end, Redemption can be made.

My book “Broken” has a tag line “Dark is the path to redemption” and I say that because sometimes, we as people are in a place in our lives, where the ONLY way we can redeem ourselves, is by falling lower then we are. By traveling down a dark path that is painful and terrible, so that in the end, we can return in redemption to our loving Father.

Well THAT is what Obama is all about. God has put Obama in office, with THE intent to discipline America. We have wondered away from him and have requested our own desires over him. We have become a complacient church that likes to sleep in. And God says “ENOUGH!”, and he casts judgement upon America, not with the aim of dooming America (although there ARE tough times ahead), but he does so in love so that those sleeping churches can awaken to him. He does it to bring more people to him then would be there otherwise.

    This is the beginning.

    The beginning of change.

    The beginning of revolution.

The beginning of a new America.

Notice I HAVE NOT said a GOOD America, but just a new America.

Only time will tell what happens, but as time goes on, remeber this, that is is He who raises nations and makes them fall. It is He that is soverign of nations and rulers. And it is ONLY in Him that we can find our strength to make it through to the finish line, because trust me, the road ahead will be hard, the road ahead will be tough.

But it is now, in the hard times that we must steel up for battle, and join in the cry of the angels that the Lord has called us out and called us up, the time is soon, begin the preparations.

Disclaimer: this is NOT the rant of a sore loser, this is NOT the rant of one who is just upset at the current president. Proof of that, is in the fact, that I felt all of these feelings BEFORE the election, and felt God tell me to vote Obama, BECAUSE of the above things so that I may be obsolved of being upset. I voted for Obama so that God’s will might be done in this election.

    The Prologue…(for Broken)

    Category: Stories

Star after star flew by. Their reflections glistened off the surface of the body of water.
Slowly, all the stars were replaced by the reflection of a building. Thousands of them.
The further it fell, the faster it fell. As the drop hit the earth there was an explosion.
The explosion wasn’t on the concrete, it was in a building. The glass in front of me flew outward, and the rain began to fly inward. I let the smoking gun fall to the ground next to my feet. As the rain flew in, it began to soak me, covering up the tears on my face with the neutral water of the rain.
My hair became matted, and my shirt began to cling to my body. I took a swig, the vodka burning on its way down.
My finger traced the edge of the label, I took another swig. This one less painful then the last, but painful enough to drive the internal pain to the far reaches of my mind.
I shook my head trying to move, but my body didn’t cooperate. I knew that one of my neighbors had to have heard the gunshot. They would probably call the cops, and then, well then the cops would ask why I had the gun. It was innocent really. I never REALLY planned on taking my life.

Well, maybe I had originally… the memories were fuzzy. Everything was fuzzy as of recent. Well, the last time anything was REALLY clear was before everything began. You see, there are moments in our lives, where one day you realize that was the day that it all changed.

You never realize it at the time really, you just think its another day, but then months go by and it jumps out at you.
6 months ago … as of today actually. Today should have been our sixth month anniversary, but no. Instead today was the day I almost killed myself … or maybe, now that I think about it, maybe today will be the day I DO kill myself. There are still eleven minutes left in the day after all.
    December 10th…
That was the day it all changed. But today is the day I realized, it will never be the same.
I hear the sirens in the distance…

    NaNoWriMO!!!!!!!!

    Category: My Life

So my mom, being the evil woman she is… :) hahaha. She told me about (I’m mean coerced me into) NaNoWriMo, which is short for NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth.

Basically, the idea is you write an entire novel (50,000 words) in a single month. Starting from November 1st, through Midnight local time, November 30. So … as you can tell by the participant image on the side bar to the right, I joined (was coerced), and it looks to be AWESOME! There are 100+ people that have identified Hawaii as their home region that are being part of NaNoWriMo. They have a kick off tomorrow, and I get off work an hour before, so I should be able to rush over and participate on the first day of the month, it’ll be GREAT!

And if done, that’ll get me Broken as a finished novel by November 30, rather then the first of the year, I could then spend the next month or so, editing and making any revisions, etc. and possible be able to officially publish it early this next year in Jan or Feb sometime, which would be AWESOME!!!!

    New Site Design

    Category: My Life

So I changed the layout, as I mentioned in my last post. The CSI Theme was very bright and was just random. This new theme has the awesome color of BLUE again. (That’s right, mom, the blue returns…). AND the theme has a purpose. It’s a theme for the novel Broken that I’m working on writing so I can publish. SO that means I’ll be leaving this basic theme up for awhile, several months at least until I can get the book published and move onto a new project.

    I hope you guys enjoy it :) I do…

    Then the end was known…

    Category: Stories

So, I was cleaning my room and doing laundry the other night …. last night I believe. And I suddenly had this brain surge, so I sat down and started writing, and I wrote out the ending to Broken.

It’s just the rough draft #1, so I’m sure it’ll change as I write the book. After all, everytime you write a story, things end up happening in it that you never realized. In the end, it’s like someone told YOU the story. As my favorite author said at one point, “You have this sudden WOW moment. And that translates to the readers as those ‘AHA’ moments.” Those things that no one knew was coming, not even the author. Because of those moments, endings written early are never set in stone, but now I have a goal to aim for, and for a rough draft, I think it’s a pretty epic ending. :)

Oh, and a site renovation is coming up either tomorrow or Thursday to bring the theme of the website more towards Broken promotion. :)

    Some Biblical Humor…

    Category: My Life

So, I’m trying this thing called actually obeying the Sabbath… we always think of the Sabbath as, I have to go to church service on “Sunday” or I’m a sinner. At least that’s how I always felt, when growing up in Southern Illinois. But that’s the religion view, for if there isn’t a service, there isn’t a religion.

But what about the Relational side of the Sabbath? The Sabbath as a day or rest, a day of time with God? In Germany, it’s illegal to cut your grass around your house on Sundays. Your neighbors will actually call the cops on you.

Well, so today was an “All Day to God” type thing. I woke up, got ready, and turned off my phone, heading off to my personal mountain of God (we won’t go into where that is because it’s a personal thing).

Once there, I noticed several very interesting verses, some humorous, some not in the Christian norm, and some others.

So we typically don’t associate Christians with violence, right? Well I mean BESIDES the crusades. Well, check this verse out. Read more

    Broken Back Matter

    Category: Stories

Here is a rough draft of the Back Matter (information listed on the back of the novel), as I write the novel I will continue to improve it to make it sound better, more exciting as well as to flow better with the way the story goes:

Jeremy Fallon’s life has been a pretty stable one, despite the minor ups and downs of life. it’s been smooth, but when he meets Sheri, a spunky wild-hearted girl, he finds his life begin to tilt upside down.

With everything he used to know turning around, with all the rules he used to follow now broken, and with the life he once knew seeming insignificant, he faces a future, like many of us, that seems grim and dark.

The only question is, where do you turn, when you no longer interested in where you came and you’ve hit the bottom of life?

The next step in the books

    Category: Stories

I just finished a prototype for a book that I’m working on. This is a book that is very strong to me right now, the story really speaks to me and I’m currently trying to decide which book to do first, either “Clandestine” the first of the AFOSI Teen Division, or this book known as “Broken”.

Here is the prototype of the cover.

    Broken Cover Draft 2

Only time will tell over these next couple of days while I try to hash out some details of Broken and dive into it, seeing if it’s going to be plausible to get done by the first of the year, if not, I’ll be putting Broken on the shelf till I finish Clandestine. Decisions, decisions, decisions…

Clandestine, The Respublica Vestiges Codex begins…

    Category: Stories

So I’m on page 27 of my novel “Clandestine” which I plan to finish by the end of this year. I wrote all the backmatter for the book while on the plane the other day coming back from Europe. Here is the info.

The top describes the “Respublica Vestiges Codex”, of which the AFOSI: Teen Division Series (as well as Clandestine) is a part of.

    THE RESPUBLICA VESTIGES CODEX

The Respublica Vestiges Codex is a set of highly confidential and classified files detailing operations and events that occur at home and abroad in special agencies around the world that lead up to the end of the United States as we know it.

That back matter is going to be at the top of all Respublica Vestiges Codex books. Below is the backmatter for the single book Clandestine:

The first ever teenage special agent is recruited to help combat the growing threat of a mysterious organization known as Clandestine.

When AFOSI Team Blue Hawk Special-Agent-In-Charge Paul Brandly is notified that a group of OSI agents have been captured he puts into practice a new plan that has been tossed around in the office: secretly recruiting high school students as agents.

Ben Johnston is a poor student, avid gamer and has an IQ in the top 1% of the United States. But he has no idea what is in store for him when he is sent to locations overseas and undercover as a college student at the University of Hawaii trying to uncover the quickly disappearing tracks of CLANDESTINE.

That’s all for now, in a couple months, I’ll most likely get an excerpt up and around.
